Matrix, the specialist software solutions provider, has confirmed that it has been awarded a contract to provide TAQA Bratani with Business Management System (BMS) software for its North Sea operations.
Under the terms of the contract Matrix will provide a customised version of its MAT-Sys™ software plus configuration and support services for TAQA’s HQ in Aberdeen and its four North Sea oil installations. The software has been delivered and the support work is ongoing.
TAQA, the UK subsidiary of UAE’s Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC, purchased blocks 210/25a, 211/21a3, 211/16c and 210/20f in Britain’s North Sea near assets it had previously acquired in 2008 from Shell and ExxonMobil. Last year’s deal included four producing fields – Cormorant Alpha, North Cormorant, Tern and Eider.
In October 2009 TAQA announced production from its first new North Sea oil well. The well was drilled from the TAQA operated North Cormorant platform and was completed safely, on time and within budget.
Wilf Luck, Managing Director of Matrix commented: “TAQA is a new and important client for Matrix. We value this contract and welcome the opportunity of helping TAQA to achieve their objective of becoming a global leader in the energy sector. We believe that our software will make a major contribution.”
