MAT-Sys

The MAT-Sys Matrix Management System has been used to manage oil and gas projects and operations for the past 15 years. Simple in its approach, it is based on the plan/do/measure/learn continuous improvement cycle and complies with ISO Management System Standards (18001, 14001, 9001 and 29001) for health, safety, environmental and quality management. MAT-Sys has also been successfully used for business, project and security management.

MAT-Sys is fully flexible and scaleable - it can accommodate change easily and grow to match company development.

MAT-Sys can be used as an integrated system covering several activities, e.g. health, safety and the environment or standalone, e.g. just for safety.

The management principle behind MAT-Sys is simple and is designed around:

• setting objectives and targets(2)
• putting in place strategies, plans and programmes(3) for delivering objectives and targets
• implementing actions to prevent risk(1) becoming a reality
• monitoring achievement of objectives and targets(2) and making adjustments as required

(1) Risk is a general term used to cover: hazards, effects, threats and impacts.
(2) Objectives and targets are the "what" and "when" for achieving goals.
(3) Strategies, plans and programmes deliver objectives and targets.

MAT-Sys provides a robust platform and a systematic approach to managing and improving performance. It aligns company-wide efforts to delivering goals.

The MAT-Sys web-application can be installed on and accessed globally through any company intranet website or the Matrix extranet website as part of a managed service.

MAT-Sys comes as a standard Enterprise edition which can be customised to match a client's specific needs. Modules are available and designed to "plug-in" to the System. For example, action tracking (MAT-Track) and training (MAT- Train).
